The first step of the process for a new build or self build house design is a project brief. This is where we will work with you to ensure we have a complete understanding of what it is that you would like to achieve from your finished project.

We’ll factor in all of your ideas and preferences as well as giving our own guidance and expertise to create a brief that truly reflects a project that you’ll love and factors in your every need, limitation and idea.

The second step of the process for designing a new build or self build in Manchester is to create a feasibility study. This is where we will carry out all of the necessary processes to ensure that the work being planned is all actually possible.

That means checking the suitability of the area, the likelihood of planning permission, pre applications for planning, and every other required area that could impact the overall completion of your project.

Once you know that your project has the potential to truly come to life, it’s finally time for the designs to be made around the brief, factoring in all of the information that has been gathered so far.

There will be multiple design ideas created so that you can make an informed decision with all of the possibilities that are available to you, as well as allowing you to add your own creative input and make sure you’re really creating the best fitting design for what you need. This ensures the designs meet any criteria you have all the while maintaining efficiency, practicality, and fitting the purpose it’s being built for.

When you are happy with the designs for your property, the planning stages can then begin. Again, using any work already gathered, planning enquiries can be made before planning drawings are issued and submitted on your behalf.

We will then liaise with the planning authority for you, working with them to ensure your designs are approved, and making any amendments in order to ensure that this happens and the project can move forward.

The final step of the architectural process is creating the building regulations drawings for the property, now that planning permission has been provided. This is where the specifics of the build will be drawn up, factoring in more specifics and detail than any of the previous drawings, all to be submitted to building control.

When building control then grants approval, you’re then ready to hand all of your drawings to your builder for them to work from and tweak to the site as they find it and the work develops, knowing full well all work drawn up is completely up to standard.

Of course, the very final stage of your project is actually bringing the build to life. Although we are not builders, we do have access to a wide network of builders and tradesmen we can use to find the best team for the job, as well as offering additional drawings and services too.

We offer all of our clients working drawings that a builder can work from directly, as well as any other specific drawing type, and project management services on top of this too. In this project management, we will oversee the entire build process for you, ensuring clear communication, safe payment releases, and only the highest quality of work is being carried out at any point.
